Cornwall

Where?

Cornwall and Isles of Scilly PCT, Cornwall Council and Cornwall Partnership Foundation Trust are working together.

Cornwall has around 531,500 people living in 249,634 households. Cornwall is 3,559 sq km (Square Kilometres).

Since the 1960’s, there are more and more people in Cornwall. The population of Cornwall grows faster than other counties in the South West.Cornwall’s population will grow to about 628,800 by 2029 , an increase of 93,100 (17.4%) between 2009 and 2029.

Cornwall’s population will grow mainly because more people are moving to Cornwall than leaving it.

Most of the new people in Cornwall are between 18 and 65, or “of working age”.

More than 9 out of 10 people in Cornwall call themselves “white British”. This is much higher than most other counties.

People with learning disabilities in Cornwall

GP’s (family doctors) in Cornwall count the number of people with learning disabilities. They say that they see just over 2000 people with learning disabilities.
Cornwall Council’s register of people with learning disabilities receiving a service is quite similar in size.
