Cornwall Partnership Board

Champs Team Two

The health sub group of the Partnership Board is known as the ‘Big Health Group’, which meets regularly and has family carer and self advocate reps on it.

We held a Big Health Day on the 13th October 2009 at Kingsley Village and will be holding another on 11th November 2010 at the Eden Project.

Our eight Health CHAMPS Team members (people with a learning disability employed by NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly) have helped make signs in hospitals clearer.

They have also helped make easier to understand leaflets and information. They also help our health promotion team.

Get Real Team members sit on the Cornwall Learning Disability Partnership Board (LDPB). They go to their local forums to hear what people are saying and to raise issues with Partnership Board partners.

Cornwall Partners in Policymaking (PIP) is part of the national PIP network. They are led by family carers and are help with developing family leadership in Cornwall. Part of this is to get involved in consultations and raising issues.

There are the Roadshows and Big Partnership Board days in different parts of Cornwall. There is information about health at these days.
