The initial findings of the first national self assessment of Autism Services was published today by the Learning Disabilities Public Health Observatory. Local Authorities undertook the assessment using a template proposed by the Department of Health in April 2011. 136 out of a possible 152 authorities responded making this a near comprehensive initial overview of services for people with Autism in England. More detailed results of the survey, including full responses from all responding local authorities will be published in early May. A more detailed thematic analysis of textual comments made in returns will follow later in the summer.
