Substance misuse and people with learning disabilities - London event

Wednesday 15th February 2017
9:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Although only a small proportion of people with learning disabilities have substance misuse problems, they are a doubly disadvantaged group and often services are not meeting their needs.

This event will look at what the research evidence says about supporting people with learning disabilities who have substance misuse problems. We will be looking at what can be done to improve the support they get.

There will be presentations from drug and alcohol teams as well as learning disability teams. These teams are working together to put reasonably adjusted services in place.

This event is aimed at professionals working in either drug and alcohol teams or learning disability teams who are working to support people with learning disabilities who have substance misuse problems. It may also be relevant to commissioners and others who have an interest in this area.
