A new website, WELD blog, has been launched. The new site aims to provide daily updates, summarising published research key policy guidance and reports from major statutory bodies.

It is managed by John Northfield and Andre Tomlin from the NHS Evidence Learning Disabilities email newsletter.

The team regularly search a wide range of websites, databases and journals to find relevant and reliable evidence that may impact on learning disabilities practice in the UK.

The most significant article is selected each day and is published on the blog with a brief summary and a link.

Lead blogger for WELD John Northfield said:

“We know that learning disabilities professionals have very little time and often struggle to find high quality research to inform their practice. Our aim with the WELD blog is to make it easy for people to stay up-to-date with the good quality published evidence. We hope that the blog will become a friendly and useful website that people can visit when they want to ask questions about research and share experiences."

You can also WELD blog on Twitter @WELDblog."
