How many NHS patients have learning disabilities?

We want to know whether people with learning disabilities get treated as well as other people when they go into hospital.

Hospitals keep records of all the people they look after.

At the moment these don’t show whether the people have learning disabilities.

If they did, we would know better whether the care they get is the same or not so good.

So we want to ask hospitals to start recording this for everyone they look after
